Program Helping Single Moms in Iowa Pay Their Rent

House of Hope has announced assistance to single moms to help support their rent during the COVID-19 crisis. Their purpose is to end homelessness for single mothers in Cedar Valley, Iowa.
With approval from the Otto Schoitz Foundation, House of Hope has moved grant funding to support the immediate need by opening up rationed rental assistance for single moms who have lost wages impacted by the pandemic.

Funding will not cover the full rent but can help fill the gap. The temporary program will end once funds are depleted. Funding is given out on a first-come, first-serve basis to eligible applicants. Payments will go directly to the Landlords.

Eligible applicants must be:

· A single mom with at least 1 minor child in her care

· Must have a current lease in her name

· Must have been employed before Covid19 pandemic

· Must have lost employment or decreased hours due to the pandemic

Documents needed to apply:

· Copy of Photo ID

· 2 paystubs prior to pandemic (February preferred)

· 1 paystub or unemployment check after hours were cut (employer verification may be accepted) · Completed Spending Plan: can be found on the website www.houseofhopeccd.org

· Landlord and employer contact information, along with signed release that we may speak with the landlord and/or employer
