Women who want to take their jewelry-making talents to the next level, like starting their own jewelry business, will find grant support from Halstead. If this name sounds familiar, it should. Halstead has been a jewelry supplier to small jewelry businesses since 1973.

The Halstead Grant

Every summer Halstead awards a grant to a new jewelry designer working primarily in silver. The grant consists of $7,500 in start-up capital and $1,000 in merchandise as well as recognition in the industry. The grant is offered annually to support emerging jewelry designers in the United States.

Applicants for the Halstead Grant must include a jewelry collection along with answers to 15 questions regarding the applicant's business plan. Previous recipients have been chosen due to their competitive analysis, marketing strategy, 3-year plan and production capacity outline, along with their qualify craftsmanship.

Annual deadlines are usually August 1. The Halstead Grant began in 2006 and has helped many jewelry entrepreneurs establish their hold in the competitive world of jewelry.
