Fashion entrepreneur/business woman Tory Burch is just one of 18 self-made women billionaires in the U.S. She also started the Tory Burch Foundation which offers low-cost loans and grant programs to women entrepreneurs.
Fellows competition
The Tory Burch Foundation also holds an annual Fellows Competition to help early-stage women entrepreneurs grow and scale their businesses. Every year, 10 women business owners will be chosen to receive $10,000 grants each, one year of fellowship support from the foundation, plus one fellow will be selected among the 10 to receive a $100,000 grant for their business.
Applications begin in September with a November deadline each year. Applicants must be women entrepreneurs who own a majority stake in a qualifying, for-profit business that has been in operation from 1-5 years. The business must have revenues between $25,000 - $500,000 per year.
Capital Program
The Tory Burch Foundation also has a Capital Program powered by Bank of America that provides women entrepreneurs in the United States the opportunity to access affordable loans through Community Lenders. This includes local lenders that provide credit and financial services to underserved markets and populations, including women.
