The Women's Fund is part of the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts. Since 2005, the non-profit organization has been awarding grants to organizations that provide services for low-income girls and women. The organization is now taking applications for Action Award grants.
Eligible businesses must be non-profits that serve the counties of Bristol and Plymouth. Their programs must be designed to specifically serve the interests of women and girls, such as developing leadership qualities, or teaching them how to make positive choices in their lives.
All grant requests must include a proposal outline, how the project will meet a community need, how it will bring lasting social change for girls in Southeastern Massachusetts, and how it will sustain itself in the long run. Grants may be awarded up to $5,000.
The purpose of the Women's Fund is to increase educational and economic opportunities and self-sufficiency among low-income women and girls in Southeastern Massachusetts. The Fund is particularly interested in neighborhood-based programs that will have a significant impact in the community and with the women and girls who live there. The organization has given more than $1 million in grants since 2005 in support of women and girls.
