Daymond John's Black Entrepreneurs Day Inspires Thousands of Aspiring Women Business Owners

On October 24th, Daymond John, CEO and founder of FUBU, and co-host of ABC’s Shark Tank, celebrated Black Entrepreneurs Day, a special live-stream for African American entrepreneurs. Thousands of women entrepreneurs were in attendance. The event hosted an intersection of business and entertainment where John had one-on-one conversations with Black business leaders and industry icons.Black Entrepreneurs Day, presented by Chase for Business, had the mission to provide guidance and inspiration to the next generation of entrepreneurs, many of whom are entering uncertain economic times during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A $175,000 “NAACP Powershift Entrepreneur Grant” was announced and was funded by the event’s partners, Chase for Business, The General Insurance, Pepsi, Cisco Webex, Quickbooks, Yappa, and Robinhood to help jump-start and enhance new business ventures.

Black entrepreneurs and small business owners across the country were encouraged to apply for the NAACP Powershift grant.
