Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and Girls for A Change (GFAC) have joined together to introduce scholarship opportunities for girls. GFAC's focus is to ensure girls progress ahead of the learning curve, break cycles, and close the opportunity gaps faced by too many disadvantaged, marginalized or underrepresented girls—specifically Black girls.
Their mission is to give every girl who aspires to get ahead a chance to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
To qualify applicants must:
- Be an upcoming college freshman attending VCU
- Be an active member of the Girl Ambassador Program with Girls For A Change
- Submit a 500 - 1,500-word essay outlining your goals, life vision, and importance of this scholarship opportunity
Scholarship awards can be between $1,000-$10,000 per year.
