There are 1.4 million companies owned by women of color in the United States; Latinas control 39 percent of these businesses, according to About.com, an online resource of information containing content written by experts on subjects that include business, home, health, travel, technology and food. Businesses owned by Latina women have grown 82 percent since 1997 through hard work, persistence, and help from others.
