Women Writers Receive Rona Jaffe Foundation Grants

Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers' Awards
Six talented female writers received grants of $30,000 each for their work in writing fiction, non-fiction, and poetry in the annual Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Awards. The grants not only recognized their writing talents but also enabled the winners to fund additional writing projects.

The Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Awards program was created by Rona Jaffe in 1995 to honor women writers exclusively. Rona Jaffe was an author who wrote 16 books of which several were international best sellers. She established the foundation to encourage women writers early in their careers. Six exceptional women writers each year are awarded grants from the foundation.

For 18 years, the Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers' Awards has recognized the outstanding literary work of women writers. The grants focus on the early years of writing careers. The grants provide support for costs involved in research and travel, and even child care to provide more time to dedicate to writing.

The Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers' Awards program has given more than $1 million in grants to talented women dedicated to their literary profession. It is the only program of its kind dedicated to supporting women writers exclusively through national literary awards.
