SoGal Foundation is the largest global platform for diverse women entrepreneurs and investors. Spanning 6 continents with hyper-local programming in over 50 cities, their mission is to close the diversity gap in entrepreneurship and venture capital.
To accomplish this, the foundation has teamed up with Winky Lux, BlueMercury, TwelveNYC, Twilio, and other sponsors to make a small step towards progress with the launch of The Black Founder Start Up Grant. The program will provide several $5K to $10K cash grants to Black women entrepreneurs.Awardees will also receive tactical help navigating the fundraising environment at large so that they will have a more equitable opportunity at scaling the next billion-dollar idea. They will also receive lifetime “ask-me-anything” access to the SoGal Foundation and SoGal Ventures teams. Although this is a small start, they are hopeful that it will grow. They believe in a brighter future where the next world-changing business does not go unrealized because of systemic discrimination.
