AssistHer Emergency Relief Grant Program Launches to Help Women Entrepreneurs in Texas

The Assisther Emergency Relief Grant Program is offering $10,000 grants to help women business owners to maintain their business while enduring financial difficulties due to COVID-19. The resources can be used for equipment upgrades or anything needed to change or modify your business production, and operational costs.
Businesses must satisfy all the below conditions for eligibility:
  • Must be an existing woman-owned business (with at least 51% ownership and structured by one or more women who are U.S. citizens) may apply.
  • The business must be a profitable corporation, partnership, LLP or LLC, or sole proprietorship. non-profit corporations or similar non-profit entities are not eligible.
  • The business must be going through financial hardship due to COVID-19.
  • If the business or owner owns the property from which the business operates, all property taxes must be current.
  • All sales taxes, payroll taxes, and any other taxes must be current.
  • The businesses must be located and/or operated within the state of Texas.
  • The business, business owner, and the applicant must not be involved in any pending or current litigation.
  • The business, business owner, and applicant must be operating with all required permits and licenses and are compliant with all required laws.
  • The business owner must not have any felonies or conviction of a crime of dishonesty or breach of trust
  • TWU's faculty, staff, students (including their immediate family), and previous grant winners are not eligible to apply.

As a precondition for eligibility, awardees must view an instructional video on "Best practices for maintaining grant funds and long-term business sustainability." All awardees will receive the video for viewing. Recipients will be given an opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions with a CWE business mentor if needed.
