The Spanx by Sara Blakely Foundation, has partnered with Global Giving to create The Red Backpack Fund, which is offering $5 million to assist female entrepreneurs in the wake of COVID-19.
Since its beginning, Spanx and The Spanx by Sara Blakely Foundation has been devoted to uplifting and assisting women through private enterprise. Recognizing the empowerment of inspirational women helps to improve neighborhoods, cities, and countries.
Global Giving will be administering the fund, producing 1,000 grants of $5,000 each to female entrepreneurs in the U.S. to help lessen immediate needs and aid in the long-standing recovery of those impacted by this calamity.
In adddition to the financial award, each female recipient will also receive a “lucky” red backpack.
Sara Blakely founded Spanx with her “lucky” red backpack from college. Carrying it with her every step of the way, the “lucky” red backpack is an emblem of starting out small while dreaming big.
