Charitable organizations located in and serving the metropolitan areas of Indianapolis, Indiana and Phoenix, Arizona, may be eligible for grants up to three years from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. The Trust expects to distribute approximately $14.3 million in grants in 2014.

Grants are offered twice a year in the areas of helping people in need, protecting animals and nature, and enriching community life. Grants can range from $2,000 to $500,000. Non-profit organizations who meet the trust's criteria may submit one application per year for a grant.

Programs that help people in need include those that help vulnerable children and adults with education and training to help them become self-sufficient. Animal protection programs include animal shelter, rescue and adoption. Environmental programs are those that help preserve, protect and restore plants and animals, land and water. Community enrichment programs that foster arts and culture in the community are also eligible for grants.

The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust was established in 1997 and named for Nina Mason Pulliam who was a strong advocate in Indiana and Arizona to advance programs that help people in need, animals, and communities. The organization has headquarters in both Phoenix, Arizona, and Indianapolis, Indiana.
