For the second consecutive year, the League of American Bicyclists is offering mini-grants to new or existing programs that foster more interest in bicycling among women. The purpose of the grants is to educate women on the benefits of bicycling and increase the representation of women in the bicycling industry and community.
About the grants
The mini-grants range from $500 to $1,000. Four small businesses recently received grants from the League of American Bicyclists. The companies were across the country, from Chicago to Los Angeles. The businesses were chosen for grants based on their innovative ideas to get women involved in bicycling.
The grants are part of the Women Bike Program offered through the League of American Bicyclists. Women Bike seeks to grow more interest and participation in bicycling by women throughout the U.S. Their goal is to create more programs that will propel women as leaders in the bicycling industry.
The League of American Bicyclists is a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C. whose goal is to create a bicycle friendly America. Their programs support communities and businesses who work toward establishing healthier, stronger communities through bicycling.
