PeopleFund Supports Women and Minority-Owned Businesses With Annual Grant Competition

PeopleFundPeopleFund is a non-profit organization that supports women, veteran and minority-owned businesses in the state of Texas. Each year, the organization runs a Top Seed Business Plan Competition in which three small business owners will be awarded a grant.

The categories include small business idea, non-profit business plan, and youth business plan. Entrants must supply a video presentation, explaining the nature of their business and its products or services, how it will be funded ongoing, and any unique aspects that demonstrates how it will sustain itself and stand up against the competition.

Finalists are invited to an Economic Summit where they can present their business plans in front of a panel of judges. One winner in each category is then chosen to receive grants. Judging is based on thoroughness of the business plan, demonstration of a need in the market for its products or services, and a solid plan for the company's future success.

PeopleFund was founded in 1994 in Austin, Texas as a non-profit organization providing grants, loans, educational workshops and other business resources to small business owners in Texas.
