ExxonMobil Women’s Economic Opportunity Initiative

ExxonMobil Women's Economic Opportunity Initiative
ExxonMobil Women’s Economic Opportunity Initiative is dedicated to helping women in developing countries improve their lives and also improve the lives and economic potential for others in their communities. Businesses who develop programs that directly affect women in developing countries may be eligible for grants.

The program is designed to train female leaders of nonprofit organizations in leadership and management skills. The goal is to strengthen the position of women in developing countries where many women still face economic and social barriers that prevent them from contributing to the growth and development of their communities.

Grant-eligible programs can include:

  • Programs that teach skills development, offer mentorship, or provide networking for women and result in producing more women entrepreneurs and business leaders
  • Programs that provide financial education that results in women making educated investment decisions
  • Programs that result in increasing the representation of women in high-impact technology fields
The ExxonMobil Women’s Economic Opportunity Initiative, funded by the ExxonMobil Foundation, began in 2005 and has helped thousands of women in over 90 countries by supporting women's initiative programs with more than $70 million since its beginning.
