Scholarships for Low Income Women With a Vision


Jeannette Rankin, the first woman elected to Congress has founded The Jeannette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund. The scholarships are awarded every year to low-income women 35 years of age or older. Established in 1978 the fund has awarded over $1.8 million in scholarships to over 700 women with a vision and know-how to benefit themselves, their families, and their communities through education.
The awards may apply to school expenses such as books, transportation, child care, utilities, and living expenses.

To Apply Applicants Must:

  • Be in an undergraduate or vocational training program
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • Meet the maximum net household income guidelines and;
  • Include their goals, plans for reaching their goals, challenges faced, and financial situation
