The Sallie Mae Fund is a passionate organization under the Sallie Mae umbrella. Their mission is to “increase college access for America’s students by supporting programs and initiatives that help to open doors to higher education.
The Sallie Mae Fund has united with the Hispanic College Fund to establish the First in my Family Scholarship. The Fund defines and targets these scholarships for the “Hispanic-American population who are the first in their family to attend college and have a financial need.”
In efforts to promote and support diversity, many funds, and organizations like this offer resources and scholarships to minority students who are underrepresented in the community and on many college campuses.
