Women In Philanthropy Awards Over $650,000 in Grants
Since the organization was formed in 2009, Women In Philanthropy has awarded over $650,000 in grants. The grants have been awarded to non-profit programs and projects that result in significant positive changes in the lives of women and children throughout the Georgia counties of Aiken, Burke, Columbia, Edgefield, McDuffie or Richmond.

Who qualifies for grants

The areas of importance to Women In Philanthropy include health and safety, self-sufficiency, and family issues. Non-profit organizations who focus their services in these areas may apply for a grant.

Examples of services that are eligible for funding are those that provide health care and other treatment for women and children who are victims of physical, sexual and verbal abuse; housing, food, shelter and education to help those in need to become self-sufficient; and help with parenting skills and childcare.

Informational meetings are help every Fall that provide information on the grant application process as well as due dates. Women in Philanthropy awarded 9 grants totaling $132,800 to area non-profit organizations in 2015. Since it's beginning, the organization has awarded $656,100 in grants.
