Women Are Dreamers Too Non-Profit Awarded Rite Aid Grant

The Rite Aid Foundation
For the second year in a row, the Rite Aid Foundation has awarded a grant to Georgia non-profit organization Women Are Dreamers Too Inc. This year's grant money totaled $5,000, a substantial increase over last year's grant of $2,000.

Founded in 1998, Women Are Dreamers Too (WADT) began as a job placement service for homeless women in downtown Atlanta. Many of the homeless women were victims of domestic violence and needed counseling and other support services. This led to the growth of the organization in providing more support services to women throughout Georgia who are domestic violence victims.

WADT provides services to women such as a 24-hour hot line, shelter, counseling, legal services and business technical training and computer training. Their mission is to improve the lives of under served women and women who are victims of domestic violence.

The Rite Aid Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2001. Its purpose is to help people in Rite Aid communities to live happier, healthier lives. They have awarded $13 million in grants to 820 organizations since they began.
