New York Steps Up Its Efforts to Certify Women Business Owners
A new program in New York state enables certified women business owners an opportunity to take their businesses to a higher level. The new program is designed to help them sell their products/services to state agencies, departments and authorities.

New York State Minority Women Business Enterprise

New York State Minority Women Business Enterprise certification process offers a simpler application that can often be 45 percent completed before the business owner even leaves the office. Since New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has mandated that 30 percent of state agencies, departments and authorities’ vendors must be MWBE (Minority and Women Owned Enterprise) certified, making the certification process easier is crucial.

Why certify?

Once a business is MWBE certified, women business owners will have access to more resources and programs to help their businesses succeed in the marketplace. Applying for certification is free, lasts 3 years, and also provides access to resources for success and one-on-one assistance with completing the application.

Information is available online that will clearly identify what documents are needed to submit with an application in order to be approved for certification. Applications can be submitted online which speeds up the process on the review end.
