New App Makes it Super Easy to Find Local Women-Owned Businesses

Women-owned businesses are expanding faster than businesses owned by men. One of the reasons for the growth is because women support other women. The Scottsdale, Arizona WOWOB (woman-owned, woman-operated businesses) group has made it much easier to find women-owned businesses by creating a new app.

Free app

The free app makes it easy for anyone to locate a WOWOB to meet their needs. There is no cost to search the business directory to find a WOWOB in any of 30 categories. New business listings are being added all the time, and "you don’t have to be a woman or a business owner to access the listings,” explains Mike Bull, one of the WOWOB founders.

The number of women-owned businesses has grown from around 9.9 million in 2012 to 12.5 million expected for 2017, according to bizwomen. But women owned-businesses still account for only 13 percent of total small business revenues. So, there is still work to be done in locating women-owned businesses in order to better support them.

WOWOB is a new social media platform for Woman Owned Woman Operated Businesses, created by Jackie Wszalek, Owner of Splash Printing & Marketing. To learn more about the organization, visit wowob.org/about/
