When someone comes to your rescue, you might call them an angel. Imagine an entire group of 'angels' who are consistently coming to the aid of women entrepreneurs when they are often turned down by traditional lenders. Pipeline Angels is a network of women investors who want to help.

Pipeline Angels

Pipeline Angels was launched in 2011 and brings investors and startups together. Every year the company has a bootcamp for new investors and a pitch summit where women-owned startups can pitch their company to potential investors. Since the company started, over 200 women investors have completed the bootcamp program and invested over $2 million in more than 30 new companies.

Funding opportunity for women

Pipeline Angels offer an opportunity for women entrepreneurs to get the funding they need to start or expand their businesses. Their goal is to not only fund more women startups, but create more women investors. According to the Center for Venture Research, in 2015, only 25 percent of U.S. angel investors were women and only 5 percent were minorities.

Increasing the number of women investors will also increase the amount of funding available for more women entrepreneurs. Bootcamp workshops are led by experts and seasoned angel investors, and held in the Fall in the Bay Area or New York City. Pitch summits for startups are held in October-November in cities across the nation.
