Small businesses in Colorado that are owned by women or minorities could qualify for a grant of up to $10,000. How? By expanding their businesses through exporting into foreign markets. Businesses who qualify for the grants must either have their headquarters located in Colorado, or have at least 50 percent of their employees based in Colorado.
The grants are specifically for small companies with less than 100 employees globally and who are at least 51 percent owned by women or minorities.

How the grant can be used

Grant money can be used for business-related expenses involved in foreign market exporting. This can include client development activities that include the cost of airfare and lodging, the costs of foreign exhibitions and trade shows, marketing to foreign countries, and advertising in foreign trade magazines.

Deadline

The deadline to apply is February 29, 2016.

The grants program is sponsored by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, Colorado Minority Business Office.
