How To Win A Career Development Grant from the American Association of University Women

American Association of University Women
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average person changes jobs 10-15 times during their career. Many of these changes also include changing careers. The American Association of University Women recognizes that career changes may require additional education, so they offer Career Development Grants to eligible women.

About the grant

Women who are eligible for the grant must hold a bachelor’s degree and plan to either advance or change careers, or want to re-enter the workforce. Women of color are particularly encouraged to apply as they are given priority for grants if they are working toward their first advanced degree in nontraditional fields.

Eligibility

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Eligible women must have received their last degree before June 30, 2009. Grant money can be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, local transportation, and dependent care. Grants cover either a second Bachelor's degree or a Master's degree, or specialized training in technical fields. Grant recipients must take coursework at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or technical school in the U.S.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit organization founded in 1881 and dedicated to promoting education and career opportunities for women.
