The P.C.E. grant is a one-time-only grant of up to $3,000 that is awarded to outstanding women whose education has been interrupted and who desire to return to college to complete their education and improve their lives. To qualify, women must have had their education interrupted for at least 24 consecutive months and be within 24 months of completing their educational program.
Women interested in applying for the grant must be sponsored by a chapter of P.E.O. but do not have to be members of the organization. They must live and attend school in the U.S. or Canada. The grant is only for undergraduate students planning to complete their first degree.
The Program for Continuing Education (PCE) was established in 1973 to provide need-based grants to women in the United States and Canada who want to finish their education in preparation for career advancement or job placement. The program is one of many provided by the Philanthropic Educational Organization, a non-profit organization of women helping women based in Des Moines, Iowa.
