Examples of businesses who have received grants are those that provide services such as teaching English to immigrants, emergency shelters, health education, support services for families with special needs children, programs for abused children, and clothing assistance for low-income women who are preparing for a job interview.
Eligible businesses are those that have been in business for three or more years, non-profit, and 80 percent of whose services directly benefit women and children. The nature of the services must address the needs of the health, wellness and safety of underprivileged women and children.
