$100,000 in Grants Awarded to Kentucky Female Artists

The Kentucky Foundation for WomenWomen entrepreneurs in Louisville, Kentucky with a strong interest in the arts have a friend in the Kentucky Foundation for Women (KFW). The foundation has awarded $100,000 in grants to support women's artistic accomplishments.

From music to cooking to art, the grants are awarded to women whose work has made Kentucky a better place through the arts and culture. The grants range from $1,000 to $7,500 each. Two different grants are offered. The Artist Enrichment grant helps women artists who create new areas or techniques in artistic development. The Art Meets Activism grant supports female artists who use art to create positive social change. KFW awards $100,000 in grants each year in each program.

Organizations applying for grants must be non-profit. Grants cannot be used for education or tuition purposes but are intended to help with art related expenses and activities that help improve the lives of Kentucky women.

KFW was founded in 1985 and headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. The non-profit organization is dedicated to supporting feminist art as a way of supporting social change in communities and in the world.
