The Women In Networking (WIN) Grant program is available to women 18 years of age or older who live in the Greater Valley area in Western Connecticut. This includes the towns of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton. The grant money can be used for business expenses that include equipment, marketing, and even tuition and books, childcare and business attire.
WIN was founded in 2002 by a group of successful businesswomen who began networking to solve issues surrounding women entrepreneurs and other women in business. It is the first group to serve the six-town region of the Greater Valley. The purpose of the grant is to provide financial assistance to help women reach their career goals. Recipients must demonstrate financial need.
The Greater Valley was originally known as the Naugatuck River Valley. It is located in Western Connecticut and is close to New York City, Boston and other areas. The Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce represents the Connecticut Business Women In Networking (WIN). The Chamber was founded in 1964 and represents the interests of the six-city Greater Valley and surrounding area. The Chamber has over 600 members from a wide variety of local businesses, including manufacturing, retail, large corporations and sole proprietor entrepreneurs.
