Seattle Small Business Owner Receives Grant From SurePayroll

SurePayroll
A Seattle-based company that provides consulting services for manufacturing and service companies was the recipient recently of a $5,000 small business grant from SurePayroll, a leading provider of payroll services for small businesses. The business plans to use the grant money to fund marketing programs for the business.

SurePayroll was a sponsor for Tory Johnson’s Spark & Hustle small business events that were held in 18 U.S. cities in 2012. In addition to the grant, SurePayroll awarded a year of free payroll services to a number of business owners at each event.

After Tory Johnson lost her job at NBC News in 1999, she started a company called Women For Hire, a women's and diversity career recruitment specialist company. Spark and Hustle, which came from "a spark of an idea and some serious hustle to make it happen," was born three years ago and included a series of multi-city national tours that provide women with the tools necessary to become successful small business owners.

Companies such as SurePayroll can become sponsors at Spark and Hustle events. The conferences provide women an opportunity to learn business strategies for success, connect with resources, and build important networking opportunities. Another multi-city tour is being scheduled for 2013.
